Common Mistakes and Smart Moves

Overcommitting on Work Nights

The night session starts at 20:00 CET. That is 2 p.m. in New York but midnight in Singapore. If you have work the next morning, record the match instead of watching live. The planner flags these conflicts when you enable "Rest on Mon–Thu nights."

Ignoring Rain Delays

Roland Garros does not have a roof on every court. Rain can push matches hours later or to a different day. Build in a buffer. If a match is scheduled for 11:00 CET but rain is forecast, plan to check back at 14:00 CET instead of sitting at your screen all morning.

Trying to Watch Every Court

On big days, there are 30+ matches across 15 courts. You cannot watch them all. Pick two or three courts or follow specific players. The planner helps you focus by letting you filter out outside courts or early rounds.

Forgetting the Time Zone Flip

When it is 2:00 a.m. in Tokyo, it is 1:00 p.m. the previous day in Paris. The planner converts all times to your zone. Double-check the date column. A match listed as "Day 8" in Paris might already be "Day 9" where you live.

Skipping the Women's Early Rounds

Some of the best tennis in the first week is on the women's side. The top seeds often play on Chatrier or Lenglen early. If you only follow men's tennis, you might miss tight three-set battles that never make the highlight reels.

Not Having a Backup Plan

Broadcast schedules change. A match might move from TV to a streaming-only feed. Have the Roland Garros app ready and know which streaming service carries the tournament in your region before the fortnight starts.
